Bike Polo is the High Life

Taking a quick rest in between games of polo in the summer here in Boston.  This image is part of a set that I put together covering Boston bike polo, a collection I should have up on the site in full soon.  Ohhhh, the hair coming from the busted hat, the bulging arms ballooning out on the rickety door that is the gateway to the court.  The pure blackness surrounding the Miller High Life logo, making it pop out even more.  (note: in bike polo, if you’re not drinking, you’re cheating)  The blurred goalpost cones in the background and the worn asphalt in the late afternoon sunshine.  The wheel of the bike (left above the door) that was tossed down after the game was lost or won.  Is he just worn out from the sprints and action or is he going through what went wrong on the last goal, the real world of rent money and busywork that we leave behind when we come to play?

I previously ran the blog Legit Bike Polo which has more info and photography related to the grand sport of polo.
