Got no sleep, woke up the neighborhood dragging my 57lb suitcase (of photo gear) to the subway station, flew in a sandwich of youthful exuberance (the kind untouched by [oblivious of] the myriad soul-crushing rules wrought by the TSA), and finally touched down in the homeland. A stroll around the nearby lake was a must to kick off the trip.
What I see here is straight out of some science film that talks about the capillaries of some unpronounceable tissue and the microscopic delivery systems employed by a body’s cells. The entire walk I couldn’t help but stare into the bare branches of trees, jutting skyward and breaking into ever thinner tines while relating that to other organic formations. Ain’t no accident, some natural law is determining it all, and when I look around it’s all I see.
Whatever the case, I like it. I shot about five different shoreline plants like this, right into the sun with the shallow depth of field. And flipped this one of course.
Home again, Home again.
