Sunday brought some great polo to Boston thanks to some sunshine, geese (see yesterday’s), and good cheer. This one was dredged up from the archives, perhaps Wednesday’s games. They were much colder. They’re a sign of things to come. The geese were Sunday’s sign. The geese need no signs.
Here I have scaled one of the few elevations available around the court, namely the boards. If one is willing to endure a bit more discomfort and possible minor danger, the top of the perimeter chainlink is another option. I can’t be up there for more than a minute before one of my legs goes numb though. And so here I just stand’n shoot.
Waiting for the shuffling of mallets, for fate to assign teams. Perfect time for a sip.
