Hong Kong is on the mind again after watching Wong Kar Wai’s In the Mood for Love and generally thinking about possibilities after graduation for work and life. This particular shot reminds me of the taxi I took from the container terminal to Tai Tam after arriving on HK Island.
I recall looking into another taxi while in a tunnel and seeing an immaculately dressed Asian man, hand massaging his brow in the back seat, with a very bold watch on his wrist. Something about those small, boxy red and white Toyota taxis there still simmers within me.
These veins of fluorescent light illuminate the arterial roadways that run beneath Boston’s core, playing host to innumerable tires every day that spin people from somewhere to elsewhere. For business, pleasure, pain, necessity, etc.
