Wet Tarmac

Six shots today, six whole shots. The rainy concrete laden with some of Man’s most impressive machines was just a stone’s throw away on the other side of the glass and I couldn’t help but discretely grab a couple frames.

What actually caught my eye was that total mess of details between the jet engine and the plane’s nose – all those diagonals and other craziness in there. But alas this was as far as I could zoom with the lens at hand. I think the intense lines in the stairway at left saved it/made this wider crop workable.

I must say the ivory nose of this winged beast is nothing short of impressive amid all of the gray and black in the rest of the frame. Planes in general never cease to amaze. If you haven’t seen Malick’s latest Tree of Life flick, there’s a really incredible couple of minutes of footage shot from an open cockpit plane in there. Check it out.

Home in time for Friday.
