I had a chance encounter with the originator of this series today. Grounded by skittish airports, her clan was passing through Boston after the storm had its fair shout across the eastern seaboard. And looking back over these images I can remember why I was so into them. I had forgotten I even shot this stuff so recently.
In the moment it’s so rushed, the dizzying moves that lead to suspense in hair like this. But afterwards the pixels are suspended in this permanence that you can really work over and tweak to one’s desire. This image was completely changed from how I found it in its folder deep in the hard drive, untouched since the first edit I made on the day it was shot.
I just might have to get back into this, though even thinking about it reminds me of the hassle of finding new people and working out the logistics and finally having the shoot and all the work that goes into it all. Much more of a production than shooting some Coke bottles from the grocery store.
To Tuesday.
