A couple days ago I imagined the plump clouds drifting above LA suddenly dropping from the sky and hitting the ground like giant water balloons, popping with a thunderous splash, sending cataclysmic waves in a circles all around itself. Just a thought. Give it a couple of years and you’ll be able to do it in iMovie with a couple clicks of the mouse.
My work in Los Angeles is essentially a massive survey of the distribution of certain beverages throughout convenience stores. I’ve been in this exact position (shown above) over a hundred times this week. Pulling up, readying the forms, and heading in. But this particular shot has a bit more going on.
Across the street is a Mercedes dealership. And a bus stop. And the last time I was at this corner was almost exactly two years ago. That was my last day in LA before heading to Shanghai, and on that day I stood at the pictured bus stop with my lone suit case containing my chosen possessions for the following five months. Hopped on the bus south 20 miles, grabbed a cab to the container terminals, and boarded the 333 meter long container ship LT Cortesia. Google it, plenty of pictures online.
Another chance encounter in LA.

Gee whiz, and I thuoght this would be hard to find out.
